What it does

• Set up the business, a chart of accounts and opening balances
• Keep customers, vendors and source documents exactly as uploaded
• Issue invoices and credits, and record bills with their documents
• Record payments made outside Pantry and apply them to invoices and bills
• Import bank statements in CSV or OFX and match them to the ledger
• Reconcile each bank account and close and lock each month
• Run trial balance, general ledger, profit and loss, balance sheet and ageing reports
• Download an accountant package, and bring in a QuickBooks Online cutover

What it promises

• PAN-02Opening balances are a balanced draft that a second person posts.
• PAN-06Pantry records payments but never moves money.
• PAN-07Re-importing the same bank statement adds nothing, and an overlapping download adds only new lines.
• PAN-09A statement reconciles only when every line is matched and the ledger balance, less items not yet on a statement, equals the closing balance.
• PAN-10Someone other than the preparer posts a manual journal, and only the exact revision they reviewed.
• PAN-11A posted entry is never changed or deleted; it is corrected by a dated reversal linked both ways.
• PAN-12Every report is calculated from posted lines, never from a typed-in total.
• PAN-13A locked month refuses new postings, payments and matches until a reopening request is approved.
• PAN-15An agent files proposals only, and each is approved by a person before it affects the books.
• PAN-16Moving in from QuickBooks Online shows a dry run with refused rows and balance checks before anything is written, and can be undone.
