Lamp is a status page and incident desk for one business. When something breaks, you write the update once and Lamp publishes it to your public page, an Atom feed, an embeddable banner and your subscribers together.

What it does

  • Show a public status page with every component's state and 90-day uptime
  • Open incidents and write updates from a fixed template: who is affected, the impact, what still works
  • Preview the public page and email before publishing, and schedule an update
  • Announce maintenance windows with automatic start and finish
  • Email subscribers, who can choose components and unsubscribe in one click
  • Post to Slack or Microsoft Teams channels and send webhooks
  • Receive alerts from Datadog, UptimeRobot, Better Stack or Pingdom as drafts for you to publish
  • Embed a status banner on your own site and offer an Atom feed
  • Move in from Statuspage, Better Stack, Instatus or Sorry

What it promises

  • INTAKE-002A monitoring alert only creates a draft. Nothing reaches customers until a person publishes it.
  • INCIDENT-004A published update is never edited or deleted; a correction is a new update and both stay on the public timeline.
  • UPDATE-008Publishing is a single step: the update and the list of people to notify are saved together.
  • NOTIFY-009Publishing still works while email, the queue or a subscriber's endpoint is failing.
  • NOTIFY-005A subscriber gets at most one message per update per channel, however many times a send is retried.
  • PAGE-006If the database or queue is down, the public page, feed and banner keep serving the last known state, labelled as such, and never show a false all-clear.
  • PAGE-002The status page and subscribe form work with JavaScript turned off.
  • PAGE-013The public page sets no cookies, has no tracking or consent banner, and loads nothing from other sites.
  • MOVE-002Moving in keeps original update times, notifies nobody, and brings email subscribers over as pending until they confirm.
